Google Analytics Campaign URL Builder Release

The Google Analytics Campaign URL Builder is now live and available for use. This is an advanced version of the Google Analytics URL builder that allows website marketers to define traffic sources to analyse exactly which elements within various campaigns drove particular results.

Please note that this app does not require access to your Google Analytics profile data.

The advanced options include:

1) Default values for sources and mediums; including paid search (Yahoo and Bing), social media (Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Myspace, Linkedin), content networks (Tacoda, DoubleClick, Adbrite, Facebook, Myspace), email, affiliates and offline (TV, print, radio) campaigns.

2) The no override parameter (utm_nooverride) to choose whether to attribute the first referral (traffic source) to your conversions instead of the default last referral.

3) Short URLs creation for easy distribution across your various marketing channels. You have the option of using htaccess redirection or a PHP file if you’re on an Apache server, ASP or even just a bit.ly short URL. All four options create short URLs that can be more easily shared and distributed on various promotion channels.

    Hello,

    thanks for this cool tool!

Question: could you elaborate what needs to be done specifically, re what you wrote here:
“… if using “#” as Parameter Separator make sure that the “setAllowAnchor” code is added to your Google Analytics tracking code!”

    How do I do this?

BTW, I found your tool/site after Yoast.com had mentioned re Parameter Separator: “… You should NOT use these (“?”) btw, you should instead use the hash tagged version instead.

    Thanks,

    Falk

PS to my comment/question: I just saw that Yoast’s Google Analytics for WordPress plugin has a setting that, so this should be taken care of by selecting the following in that plugin’s settings:

“This adds a _setAllowAnchor call to your tracking code, and makes RSS link tagging use a # as well.”
